Grid is not rectangular shape ...

The longitudes and latitudes intersect at any place , the inner angles of grid more than right angle (2) and less than 90 degrees (2) 

any rectangle or square forms with two pairs of parallel lines 

here the latitudes are parallels but longitudes are not parallels
