బాలికల విద్య అభివృద్ధి కోసం ప్రభుత్వం ఎన్ని చట్టాలు తీసుకొచ్చినా సమాజంలో మార్పు రాకపోతే పాఠశాల స్థాయిలో మనం ఎన్ని ప్రయత్నాలు చేసినా అది వ్యర్థంగానే కనిపిస్తుంది.

మా పాఠశాలలో ఎనిమిదో తరగతి చదువుతున్న ఒకబాలికకు 

వారి తల్లిదండ్రులు వేసవి సెలవుల్లో  పెళ్లి చేసేసారు.

 ఆ అమ్మాయి స్కూల్ కి రావడం మానేసింది. 

మా ఉపాధ్యాయులము  వాళ్ల ఇంటికి వెళ్లి బాలికను పాఠశాలకు పంపించమని అడిగాము. అప్పుడు ఆ తండ్రి చెప్పిన సమాధానం ఏమిటంటే మా అమ్మాయి కి పెళ్లి అయిపోయింది.ఇక  స్కూలుకు రాదు అని చెప్పాడు

To an eighth grader at our school Their parents got married during the summer holidays. The girl stopped coming to school. Our teachers went to their house and asked them to send the girl to school. The father then replied that our girl was married and would not come to school anymore We persuaded her in-laws and husband to send her to school. She studied till 10th class. She was pregnant at the time of the public exams. But she got a 9.8 grade. Later she refused to be included in the Intermediate ... because she gave birth to a child ...
